1. Author Privacy & Manuscript Protection

Your manuscript is your intellectual property, and BookLasso treats it with the highest level of protection.

How manuscript handling works

When you upload a manuscript:

• It stays inside your secure author account
• Our analysis engine reads it for 1–3 minutes to generate your book’s DNA (tropes, themes, vibes, pacing, etc.)
• After analysis, the manuscript is not retained, copied, or stored

What we do keep

• ✅ Basic book details (similar to a retail book page)

No story text, plot details, or manuscript content is ever stored or accessible to BookLasso staff or anyone else.

 

2. Reader & Author Data We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate BookLasso, such as:

• Account information (name, email, login credentials)
• Book metadata you choose to provide
• Usage data that helps us improve platform performance
• Optional profile information you add to your author account

We do not collect sensitive personal information unless you voluntarily provide it.

 

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to:

• Operate your BookLasso account
• Analyze your book to generate its DNA profile
• Deliver reader‑matching and discovery features
• Communicate essential account or service updates
• Improve platform reliability and performance

We do not use your manuscript or personal data for training external models, advertising, or any purpose outside the operation of BookLasso.

 

4. When We Share Data

BookLasso does not sell or rent your data.
We may share information only when required to comply with:

• Valid law enforcement requests

We do not share data with publishers, advertisers, or third‑party marketing platforms.

If you delete your account:

• Your profile and book metadata are removed
• Your book’s DNA profile is deleted
• No manuscript text is retained (because we never store it)

• Secure account authentication
• Access controls that prevent staff from viewing manuscripts
• Regular security reviews and infrastructure monitoring
